While providing toys and games for kids can be a fun part of parenting, especially during the holiday season, there are many other things that a parent should provide for their children. In particular, parents have to ensure that they provide a safe and comfortable home environment for their kids.
I recently changed the flooring in my house with the help of the professional flooring company, Empire Today. It was easy and quick since I got their help to do most of the work for me. However, there were some very important decisions that I had to make. One of the significant questions that I had to ask myself was: "Which home flooring is the best for my kids?"
The team at Empire Today gave me some good advice, and I also did some reading myself of various articles about the subject. I have discovered that the best home flooring options for kids are those that have the least chemicals in them. Generally, natural floors such as wood and bamboo floors are the healthiest options for kids. Most bamboo flooring, and other wood flooring, nowadays use binding methods during their manufacture which minimize off-gassing too. Carpets, on the other hand, may sometimes release gases that may be harmful for kids, especially during the installation stages. In the end, I chose bamboo flooring.

A new Angry Birds stuffed toy, based on the hit smartphone game, is just one small part of a huge marketing effort that is worthy of classic Hollywood movies. Rovio, the Finnish developer of the Angry Birds game, has even hired marketing expert David Maisel. Maisel is the driving force behind the successful Marvel Comics marketing blitzes for movies like Iron Man and Thor.
The surprise popularity of the game has been a windfall for the developers at Rovio, who are now benefiting from sales of stuffed bird toys, bird and big Halloween costumes and an Israeli cartoon show that turns the theme of the game into an Arab-Israeli peace conference between pigs and birds. That is only to name a few of the creative marketing ideas that have been spawned by the simple little game. In total, Rovio estimates they have earned more than 43 million pounds so far from Angry Birds.

UK toy retailer Hamleys, have unveiled a plan to open at least three more toy stores across the Gulf countries, to meet the increasing demand of toys in the region. Hamleys, which already has chains in Jordan and Dubai, is planning to expand to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar in the next 12 months. The famous toy store's new outlets were confirmed by its Gulf franchise partner, the Retail Arabia Company. The toy retailer, which was started 250 years back, opened its first overseas store in Jordan in 2008, and next in Dubai. Increase in the demand of toys in the Gulf region, especially due to increase in the number of foreign tourists, prompted this expansion move, said company CEO Gudjon Reynisson.
