Does it mean that webkinz is going to start limiting the number of users online at one time? Or at peak load times? I'm curious to see how this works out.

Say Hello to the Magic 9ball, the new POTM item

Some new pets are official - Black Poodle, TieDye Frog, Gray Arabian and the Velvety Elephant. Rumor also has it that the Duck is not a seasonal release and not the Easter pet??

The SERIES II trading cards are now available. Figurines are due out soon too as are school supplies. More to come asap but collecting stuff just got way different - there is scads more to collect but it should be easier to do so.

If you have clues and want to share post them and we'll start tracking them.

And thanks for all the kind wishes for Hayley. We'll know more in the morning about surgery on her hand. Yesterday was very long and tiring - we were at doctors, the ER and hospital from 3pm to 1am. (the short version, she has a problem with a tendon on one of her fingers and can't straight it out anymore.)

That might actually be a good idea - it would keep their servers from overloading which is most likely one of the reasons for so many glitches and so much downtime.

On the other hand, it will be frustrating if people are unable to get a turn in webkinz world - as we already know! It would almost seem like Ganz would then have to limit how long a user could spend on the site if there are others "in line" for a turn. Parents might like this - in order to help limit the amount of time their kids spend on the site - but the rest of us would no doubt find it annoying. Imagine how much it would stink if you were up to level 28 in Zingoz Pop and then got booted off because you'd reached your "time limit."

etown, exactly. I'm torn too but I'll say this, I lost to many ZPops at 12:01 in the old days that I see the frustration of being bumped out as a very real thing.

I hope this is something they use sparingly because the CASH they have racked in surely can pay for scads of redundant servers.

That's exactly what I thought. I was frustrated at how overloaded it was over the holidays. I mean, they certainly knew that tons of kids would be getting webkinz for Christmas/Hannukah and I would have expected their servers to be better prepared! But, as they say, c'est la vie!

I'm hoping that the site will be back up in time for the activities to start at 4:00. On the bright side, I did get some work done this afternoon that I've been putting off for several days. Plus, I made a lasagna for supper to surprise my mom :)

I went to the Hallmark store today to see if they had any clothes or trading cards. Sadly, they didn't... but they did have the new turtle plush, and boy is it cute! I resisted the urge to buy one - I limit myself to one webbie a month and sometimes I feel guilty even indulging that much! I did win 11 packs of (series 1) trading cards on eBay and got a bunch of really awesome prizes from the codes (including 5 pieces of the CG theme!). That about does it for my webkinz budget for a while, haha!

Woohoo! I got in through the login link on the customer service page. They are announcing some new pets: tie dye frog, gray arabian horse, black poodle and velvety elephant on the home page.

There's a blurb about the series two trading cards. Evidently they'll each have either a dog, cat, horse, or rabbit in the corner so that they can be used for regular card games as well.
