News Scoop: Webkinz moving to simultaneous release
Friday, September 19, 2008Everyone who plays Webkinz seriously knows someone who has accounts in other Time zones. We certainly have them and know many others who do as well. It helps to catch things you miss, get more rare curio items if they are limited and get earlier chances at limited time things.
Soon there will no need for the alternate time zone accounts because Ganz intends to change the time things happen in the game to one single time across the board for ALL time zones – things from events to the curio ship will be simultaneous release. That means an event starts at the same exact moment in all accounts, not when the time zone reaches a set time.
For example: An event is set to start on the 10th at 1pm. The event begins as it turns 1pm in every different time zone. If you lived in New York City, which is on Eastern Standard Time, you'd see the event at 1pm your time. People in other time zones see the event when it becomes 1pm in THEIR time zone. So people in earlier time zones, get access to the event first.
Once Ganz makes the change, everyone will have the event at the same instant, which will be different times on the clock in your own time zone. When an item or event is available for one time zone, all time zones get it.
Since all items will be available across the board, there is no need to have an account with another time zone.
