The Cocker Spaniel is now the Pet of the Month for May. When I was little, all I wanted was a cocker or a beagle. I grew up and got beagles first (and tossed in some dachshunds too) but still have a fond place in my heart for the breed - I mean who doesn't love a cute cocker spaniel?

Lady - star of the classic movie Lady and the Tramp
Coppertone - many of you are too young to even remember the famous Coppertone commericals but there was a cute dog grabbing at the clothes of a kiddo, showing her tan line. The dog was a cocker spaniel
Sophie and Solomon - Oprah Winfrey's Cocker Spaniels
Acer - from Cheaper By The Dozen
Snooper Dawg - from Channel Chasers
Three presidents have had Cocker Spaniels - Richard Nixon (Checkers), Lyndon Johnson (Fella) and John F. Kennedy (Shannon).
