How to take a screenshot
Tuesday, September 18, 2007In Windows, you have two options. Press the Print Screen (or PrtScn) key on your keyboard to copy the entire screen to the clipboard. Press Alt-Print Screen to copy only the active window. Next you’ll need to open an image editor (Microsoft Paint, which comes with Windows, is fine if you don’t plan on doing any fancy editing), create a new file, and select Paste from the Edit menu.
If you have a blog you are posting to, you will need to resize the image to fit – most blogs’ posts are about 560 pixels wide. We never go over that and most of the time size things around 360 pixels wide.
You will have to save it as a file that the internet can see. Paint will save things as .bmp which will NOT show up online. You need to save it as a .jpg or .gif. You’ll need to select SAVE AS, not Save. Look at this for help to see where to select the image.
You have more choices on a Macintosh. Pressing Command-Shift-3 creates a PICT file of the entire screen in the top directory of your boot drive. Press Command-Shift-4 to change the cursor to a cross, which you can click and drag to select an area of the screen to capture in a PICT file. The same combination with Caps Lock activated changes the cursor to a circle; click a window with the circle to create a PICT of that window. Adding the Control key to any of these combinations copies the screen image to the clipboard.

michelle i have a problem…i want to put the pictures of my rooms on my blog but i do print screen and then i crop it on Paint but then when I save it and try to upload it in WordPress it won’t word because it’s a bip image or something…what do i do
Easy fix – you just need to save it as a gif or jpg!
When you are done, hit SAVE AS (not save) and then select .jpg or .gif from the dropdown of options on file type.

michelle i know this isnt a question but i do mine another way.
at school we have netsnippets, and they sent a cd home so we could have it at home on our computer(it is used mainly for flash drive-ing)
if you have that you go on the top of the screen and press capture screen then you outliner what you want to capture, the only down side for this is that you cant capture in webkinz world because there is no toolbar when the screen pops up

I just got started with WebKinz and so far I only have two pets. My hubby has one and my son will earn his by the end of the weekend.
