Opening – First time you arrive, explains how it works.
Step 2 – “Welcome to the Curio Shop. Hope you find what your looking for.”
Step 3 – “Welcome back. See if you can find a bargain today.”
Step 4 – “Hey, welcome back. If you see something you like, let me know.”
Step 5 – “Good to see you again. Have fun shopping.”
Step 6 – “Ahh, one of my favorite customers. Let’s see what I can do for you.” You can ask when sales/rare items will be available and he’ll give you a generic time frame, like “later this evening I should have something in” or he’ll say you are out of luck.
Step 7 – “There you are! Always great to see you, my shop is your shop.” AND Arte will be holding a sign that says when the rare item will be on sale.
How to advance through these?

We did it by tipping $100 or $50 first thing to him. Then buying stuff at least once a day – could be just a hat or shoes. Nothing expensive, except the few rares.

Nope, it didn’t take us that long to move up. We did buy almost every day. And we tipped first thing when we got there – usually $100, sometimes $50.
I found out you can keep making the crowns after you make one – and you can sell them as well. If you get extra gems, keep them b/c it will give you a headstart on the 2nd one.

The list above will tell you WHAT mine to search in but there is no way to know exactly WHERE in the mine a gem is because they move constantly.

You Can Only Tip Arte Once A Day!
Yes, you can only tip him once a day and you need to do it when you first arrive, before you do anything else.
Actually, once you get the crown of wonder, you have to start over from scratch. Unfortunately, you can not carry gems over to your second crown. It is somewhere in the FAQ– I saw it when I asked a question… I’ll give you guys either a quote or a link tomorrow– sorry I couldn’t have it today!!

Yeah, and I’m the president of the United States. Miley Cyrus isn’t the type of person that would play on Webkinz, believe me. I read a magazine and it said that she flips out when someone’s sneakers are chipped, and they need to get new ones. Well, excuse us for not being millionaires and not having perfect shoes.
Anyway, there is an Apple Chair and Thinking Chair right now (between 7 and 8pm on June 30, 2007). But, the apple chair is 161 and the Thinking Chair is about 1485 or something.
A tip to make Arte love you is to buy something that he has when it is on sale. For example, buy a Zangoz Plush toy for 56 at the Curio Shop when you can get it for 65 at the W Shop. He will know that you like it when he has sales, plus you are buying from his shop.
His tips don’t have to always be a lot of money, but between 10 and 100 is best. 1 isn’t really anything, but I’d say that 25 is good because you aren’t wasting your money and he’ll get to like you.

Kaylee, I get the stuff about the curio shop b/c we are on the final level. It most definitely is not junk and is completely accurate.
For those of you who are still on lower levels, it took us like 2 months to get to the top level once we knew what to do – tip first when you get there and buy something each day. You’ll move up quick.
Folks, don’t even bother with people who say they are someone who you don’t think they are. If they are, I doubt they’d be posting but hey. If they aren’t, don’t worry about it.

I think I know what level 2 means. Each color group of gems is displayed in three rows. The bottem row(has 3 gems) is level 3, the middle row is level 2(has 2 gems) and the top row(only 1 gem) is level 1. I could be wrong though. But that is what I think it means. Anyway, thanks for the guides!
