The Webkinz World is no doubt a very entertaining website for children. Aside from the fun of taking care of a virtual pet, there are many games, quizzes and even a chat room that can keep your child amused for extended periods. These make WebKinz world so much fun, but it is these same reasons why, as a parent, your may need to watch it and limit your child's time on the computer.
How do you limit your child's time in Webkinz World? Here are some tips that worked for us:
1. Use Webkinz World as a reward. Make an agreement with your child that WebKinz comes AFTER homework and other chores are done.
2. Agree and discuss with your child beforehand how long he is allowed to play on the computer. If the child cannot tell time yet, set a timer.
3. Remind your child that her Webkinz plush toy also needs some TLC, just like her virtual pet.
4. Encourage your child to engage in sports or physical activity. If you have access to an above ground swimming pool, swimming is not just fun, but also a great way to stay fit. If you have an aquatic WebKinz pet, your child can even take it with him for a dip in the waters!
